Our first blog
August 20, 2005Everyone we know has a blog. So when I’ve got 5 minutes before I have to leave the house, or when I want to kill some time, I click through to see who has updated what. At present, I’ve gone about 3 weeks without a substantial number of blog updates. This makes for a very boring blog overview when I’m looking to waste 5 minutes.
So maybe, starting our own blog is the right idea. This will always give me something to do, and also a good way to communicate with those we don’t see too often. And besides, lets be honest. I’m terrible at email. I LOVE to get messages, but the actual hassle of clicking ‘reply’ and saying something appears to be too much to handle, as I’ve got over 100 messages in my inbox waiting for response.
So if a blog is a daily description of what we do & think, here’s today’s update. It was hot today, like 97 degrees. Around 42 for those of you who think metric. Plus humidity, it made for a “heat warning” day. I tried to go grocery shopping and sat in traffic for 40 minutes before giving up and coming home. I’m out of milk, but it’s not worth wasting my Saturday trying to drive the 4 miles to the grocery store. Some days living in the thriving metrolpolis that is the Greater Washington DC Region is too much for me. Today is one of those days. They seem to be coming more and more often – perhaps its just summer heat finally getting to me. I would like a cool breeze, I haven’t had one since we were in Canada in July.
